WOW family, I am at a loss for words right now. This whole week I have been highly anticipating Milan’s Sauce Gala, and as I thought, he completely surpassed my expectations. Aesthetically I was blown away at his display of visual fantasies and the entire feel of the event was amazing. He released some new videos with corresponding visual arts, had a picture wall from previous shoots and memories, and a pop up shop with his apparel. Chick-fila chicken nuggets and fruit were also provided with drinks and Dj Micki Blendz was in the building. While I was there I was able to speak with the videographer for the videos and a few guests of the event, so that I would be able to fill you in on ALL of the need to know details.
Damar Kashedout was the speaker for the night. He started by saying how proud he was of his friend living his dreams and turning them into a reality. He guided us throughout the night from video to art display, explaing the background of each. He definitely represented his friend well, also bringing his personal humor to the stage. When I asked him how he thought the night went, he was extremely glad about the turn out and presentations. I could definitely tell a lot of work was put into this and it was great to see how much personal effort everyone put into it to make Milan’s ideas and visions come to life.

Milan released four new videos last night, all with jiggy visuals, only proving how out of the box he really is. His first videos he released were named “Dark Forest” and “Starting 3”. My favorite video and song was “Leaning”. He starts the video being fed a pill and from there the video only gets more trippy. There are scenes with him in a straight jacket dancing, which were my favorite scences of the video. The song featured one of his brothers from the group 3rdimension, Dash, and was filmed in New York and California as well. Below is a picture of the live art scene that goes with this video.
All of the videos were recorded by Preston (@freshpres), who was also at the event. After speaking with him, I learned his favorite video was “Power”. He said he enjoyed filming this song the most because of it’s location; Los Angeles, California. His first experience in California was not one that went down in history for this young videographer, so the second time around with Milan was bound to be a great one. Preston said on his second trip to Cali, it was like he was with family. Milan is basically a brother to him and shooting this video did not feel like work at all. Those are always the best jobs to me, the one’s that feed your energy to do even more.
Aside from the video release, there were also live performances by 3rdimension and of course, Milan Hightower himself. 3rdimension performed true to their name with matching white hair, yellow jackets and gloves, and spaced out glasses. They performed three songs and recieved a great response from the crowd. After interviewing them, I learned they have no intention coming out seperately, saying that they are family and will remain close. They have all been making music since they can remember, this is an extremely talented family that we should have our eye on.
After his brother’s performance, Milan took the stage with his daughter as the background dancers put in work to one of his songs. First, let me just tell you how great it was to see him incorporate family. The family love didnt stop with his daughter though. He performed a tribute song for his mother called, “I want it all”, and both him and his mother looked so happy as they danced on stage. Next, he brought up his grandmother that he flew out from Mississippi. He freestyled a little then went on to perform “God’s Music”, a song inspired a dream his grandmother had of Milan finding stardom and needing to keep God close. Lastly, he performed “On me” with Khayree Rice, best friend and CEO of Humble Creations clothing line. Love, friendship, creativity, and lots of sauce were what made this “Sauce Gala” so successful.
I’m eager to see what the next Sauce Gala has in store for us! Make sure to stay in the loop for more info on great events like this. Thanks for checking in again! Be on watch for the behind the scenes footage with me and Divergent Films!!!
