We’ve been hearing about the Soulja Boy vs. Chris Brown fight so much lately that it was only a matter of time before another rapper felt the need to step into the ring. Why not make this a new thing, celebrity boxing? Well Kodak Black agrees and he is ready to fight for a title of his own, “Best Rapper Alive.”
It might be hard for the match to go down though because his opponent has denied knowing him in the past, but I’m sure he knows him now. Lil Wayne was interview a few months ago and when asked about this freshman rapper, he had no knowledge of him. This obviously got under Kodak’s skin.
Instead of rapping to prove his talent Kodak wants to settle the issue of who is the best in the ring. I’m sure we all know this isn’t going to happen, but still it’s funny to think about. He has even acquired a title to go right along with his ridiculous statements, “Donkey of the Day,” compliments of Charlemagne tha God.
Speaking of Charlamagne and the Breakfast Club, Kodak was invited there two days later. Honestly, after the interview I don’t know if this artist was high as a kite, genius, or both. The Haitian rapper came masked up, sporting some flashy gold teeth in his mouth and was unknowingly humorous to say the least.
One thing is for sure: the interview was one of the shortest I’ve watched, 23 minutes, and there were many awkward silences. Of course the Lil Wayne topic was brought up and Kodak remained silent for most of those adding only that he doesn’t want to talk about it.
He spoke on his closeness with his spiritual side and his mother as well as the time he spent in jail. Black said not many people wrote him, but that Wale reached out and that that was meaningful. It seemed as though he is a very down to earth artist. Maybe even a little reserved.
After joking on his Instagram live mishap and his uncircumcision, they read Kodak’s favorite bible verse from Psalms and ended shortly after. It will be interesting to see where this artist goes and where his accomplishments take him, but he seems to be on the right track for now.
What do you guys think? Will Kodak and Lil Wayne fight? And who is your favorite rapper? Let me know in the comments below!
