Yesterday, Jay Z received a high honor for his talent and decades of success as an artist. It was announced that he will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame June 15th along with 10 others. Although not televised, the ceremony is generally moving and an honor none the less.
Less than 400 musicians/artists have been inducted into this noteable group and now Jay Z is able to claim the honor and title of the first rapper to be inducted into the hall.
He also has earned 21 Grammys and sold over 100 million records. He has 7 BET awards, 3 American Music awards, 15 BET Hip Hop awards, as well as many from MTV Japan and London, Billboard, Nick Choice, and People’s Choice. His success has been accredited many times over the year and this is concidered one of his highest honors.
SHOF called Carter “one of the best-selling musicians of all time,” saying he is “a powerful entrepreneur across the music/entertainment, fashion, and sports industries, Jay Z personifies the ‘American Dream’.”
Congrats to the hard working Jay Z and all of his accomplishments. What will be the next step for this artist, aside from his soon to come twins?
