Platinum Status Migos Keep Making Waves

Since Culture dropped Jan. 27th, the Migos haven’t slowed down. Their song “Bad and Boujee” went platinum shortly after it hit the airwaves and “T-Shirt” isn’t far off.

Yesterday night (Wednesday, April 19th), RIAA released that indeed, the Atliens have reached another milestone this year. The trio earned yet another notch to add to their belt, one that is all too familiar, a platinum record. Yes, in at little less than three months they have sold 1 million units for Culture.

Between the catchy lyrics, intoxicating sound, and star-studded features, it wasn’t a matter of if they would earn their stripes for this project, but when. They accomlished that quickly. In the opening week, they charted at #1 and sold an equivilant 132 thousand copies. That was just the album though. Singles for that project also charted. T-shirt was #1 on the charts straight after it’s release as well and Migos also did some traveling to promote it. They made appearances on The Ellen Show and Jimmy Fallon as well.

As far as congrats goes, Dj Khaled took to Insta of course, along with many other fans to send their regards to the group. The Migos only had one thing to say about their big accomplishment on the Gram, “THANK YOU FANS FOR MAKING C U L T U R E PLATINUM.”

Their evolution is crazy. Quavo, Takeoff, and Offset have “came a long way since kicking in doors” and progressively pushed their way into their current spot. Although we aren’t sure about any more music from these guys this year, this won’t be the last time you hear about them in the coming months. Only more awards, plaques, and recognition is in the future for these solidified artists.

What’s your favorite song on the album? Slippery? Brown Paper Bag?
