All eyes are on the Migos. It all started when the group formed in 2009, but it really took off for them in 2013 when they dropped their YRN mixtape which contained hits “Versace,” “China Town,” “Hannah Montana,” and “Bando.” Now, they are on TV every time we turn it on, flooding our timelines, earning platinum records, and featured in close to every genre, but country. Still, with the fame and all eyes on them, there is one of the three who stand out most and that’s Quavo, the hook king.
Since the beginning, he has always been more well known than the rest, mainly due to his common placement on every hook of every song. Maybe that’s why he is the go to for outside artists looking for a feature. One thing for sure though, is Quavo has been getting a lot of attention lately as an artist.
We are only 5 months into the year and he already earned his first #1 hit on Billboard, he has been featured with Katy Perry, DJ Khaled, Drake, 2 Chainz, and with his fam, he just got his first platinum album as well! Let’s not forget to mention his song with Uzi and Travis Scott for Fate of the Furious movie. The crazy part is that’s just THIS YEAR! Last year was the start of both Migos’ and Quavo’s quick rise into the mainstream, public eye.
The migos appear to be strong on the inside and don’t seem to be budging when it comes to separation, although Quavo has been breaking out on his own more often. I mean, they’re family. Literally. Quavo is Takeoff’s uncle and Offset’s cousin. That is what is so great about them though. We never want them to separate, they bring us too many hits!
This is only the start for the ATL artists and by the looks of it, they won’t be slowing down anytime soon. This year will be Quavo’s biggest year yet and it is pretty exciting to think of where he, along with the other 2/3’s of the group, will be in the next few years.
Do you guys see any type of split in the future or will they stay together? What do you think of Quavo as an artist compared to the rest?
