Yesterday, September 11th, Blac released some new music videos, or should I say one new video. The almost 20 min short consists of 5 in 1 and is titled the same. Each visual is a little different, but he starts off strong and white eyed in the beginning.
The first segment/song of this video is a tribute to his mother and a slight nod at Tupac’s “Hail Mary.” He not only referenced that song but also the late artist’s album The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory when Tupac appeared as Jesus on the cover.
At the 2:38 mark, we move on to the next song. Transitioning to a junk yard where Blac Youngsta stands alone, we can also see imagery from Martin Luther’s march on the Lincoln Memorial. Follow him through the song as he writes in a windowsill and looks inquisitive, walks around with what looks like “Lucille,” the infamous bat from the Walking Dead, and appears as a loner.
Next, comes a desert scene. Then, on to some trippy with palm trees and a styrofoam cup in hand. This song is a little more fun with lyrics like “When I was going to school, grandma put me in tutor.” Yeah, literally tutor…. A little more simplistic than the first three songs, but my favorite line comes from when he said, “I ain’t gone buy that hoe no coffee, I ain’t gone buy hoe no lunch. I ain’t gone take you on no date lil bih, I just wanna hunch.” I genuinely thought I was the only one who knew the word “hunch” back in the day.
Last but not least, we skip to the final song and ending of his story. He takes us on a trip through his hood, a little day in the life.
But, just watch below and see for yourself.
On average, I am not a huge Blac Younsta fan. His music isn’t the best to me, but I did enjoy these songs and what he did with this project. What are your thoughts?
