JAY Z “Smile” Ft. Gloria Carter

JAY is a fool with these videos. I love how he not only puts thought behind his music but also everything else he puts out.

“Smile” is another track from the 2017 album that sparked major conversation, “4:44.” A single which dives into the struggles of his mother, living life as a lesbian in the closet. This tribute video shows the life of a young black woman, JAY’s mom, who faces daily life in the shadows of her freedom. He even incorporates his mother at the end, reading a poem titled smile.

This video is probably my favorite of the three recently dropped projects and is the second longest of the 3. Which is your favorite?
